Privacy Policy
Effective April 21, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Niro ("we," "us," or "our") handles personal information on this pre-launch waitlist website. The Niro product is not yet available. If you are here, you are either signing up to be notified when we launch, or you are reading about what we are building.
When the product launches, a separate, more detailed privacy policy will govern how the Niro application collects and handles data — including the stricter rules that apply when children use the service. This policy only covers this marketing site.
What we collect
On this website, we collect:
- Your email address, if you choose to join our waitlist. You give this to us voluntarily by submitting one of the sign-up forms.
- Basic analytics dataabout how you use the page (pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP, browser type, referring site, and events such as submitting a waitlist form). We collect this using PostHog with autocapture and session recording turned off — meaning we record named events we've explicitly chosen, not everything you click, type, or hover. A small cookie is set in your browser to recognize returning visits and count unique users, and is not shared with advertisers.
- Standard request metadata such as your IP address and user agent when you submit a form, which helps us prevent spam and abuse.
We do not use advertising cookies, third-party marketing pixels, or cross-site tracking. The only cookie set by this site is the first-party PostHog analytics cookie described above.
How we use it
We use the information above only to:
- Notify you when Niro is available or nearing launch.
- Send occasional updates about the product if you signed up for the waitlist. You can unsubscribe from any email we send.
- Understand which parts of the site are working and improve it.
- Detect and prevent spam and abuse of our forms.
We do not sell your information, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use it to train machine learning models.
Who we share it with
We rely on a small number of service providers to run this site. They receive only what they need to provide their service:
- Cloudflare — hosts this website and provides DDoS protection.
- PostHog — provides the analytics described above. Data is processed on our behalf under a data-processing agreement.
- Google — stores waitlist emails in a Google Sheet we control, via Google Apps Script.
- Our email provider — used to send you launch and product update emails if you signed up for the waitlist.
Beyond these providers, we do not share your email address with third parties, except if required by law or to protect our legal rights.
Children's privacy
Niro is being built for kids in grades K–8, but this pre-launch website is directed at parents and guardians, not at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13 on this site. If you are a parent or guardian and you believe your child has submitted information to us, please contact us at hello@nirohw.com and we will delete it.
When the Niro product launches, we will operate under a separate policy that complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and equivalent laws in other jurisdictions. That policy will govern the product itself — this one covers only this marketing site.
Your rights
You can ask us to do any of the following with the email address you gave us:
- Tell you what we have on file.
- Correct it if it is wrong.
- Delete it.
- Stop using it to contact you.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@nirohw.com. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California, you have additional rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR, and the CCPA/CPRA respectively — we honor those rights for all users regardless of where you are.
How long we keep it
We keep your waitlist email until you ask us to delete it, or until a reasonable period after launch if you never engage with our emails. Analytics data is retained by PostHog under their own retention policies.
Security
We use industry-standard practices to protect the information we hold, including HTTPS for all traffic, access controls on our data stores, and the security measures provided by our hosting and storage providers. No system is perfectly secure; if you notice a vulnerability, please report it to us at hello@nirohw.com.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site evolves and as we approach launch. If we make material changes, we will update the Effective date at the top and, where appropriate, notify waitlist subscribers by email.
